Blake Dahl – Managing Partner. Blake was born and raised in Kokomo, Indiana. After graduating from Kokomo High School, Blake began work as a Real Estate Loan Officer for HSBC Bank in Carmel, Indiana where he received numerous company awards for his performance. During this time frame Blake enrolled at Indiana Wesleyan University and in 2008 graduated with honors, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
That same year, Blake enrolled at Valparaiso University School of Law to start his legal education. Blake was very active in Law school in groups such as Phi Alpha Delta (PAD) as well as being a founder and President of the Military & Veterans’ Law Association (MVLA) which focused on Veteran issues and VA law. Blake also received a scholarship from the Gromley Society for his loyalty and dedication to excellence for the success of the Law School. In 2011, Blake graduated with a Juris Doctor Degree from Valparaiso University School of Law.
Blake’s legal experience includes being chosen as a Corporate Legal Extern with the In-House Counsel at Fidelity National Financial in Chicago, where he developed his taste for real estate law when he participated in evaluating and analyzing complex civil real estate claims and developed case specific legal strategies. Additionally, Blake was chosen as a Corporate Legal Extern for the In-House Counsel at ArcelorMittal in Chicago where he Conducted extensive legislative research and analyzed the MSHA proposed bill effects on the company, audited corporate books for mergers & acquisitions data and certificates, drafted analysis of contract assignment agreements for related mine leases, researched and wrote analysis of current laws such as the “Buy American Act” and how to keep the company in compliance, and Blake wrote a four step analysis/guide for US import/export compliance. Blake has also worked as an Associate Attorney for the well established firms of Gordon A. Etzler & Associates and Fred W. Grady & Associates in Valparaiso Indiana where he sharpened his skills in litigation.
In addition to practicing law, Blake has taught college courses as an Adjunct Professor; namely, an undergraduate course entitled, “History of the US Constitution” and a graduate class entitled, “Legal Environment of Business”. Blake’s preferred areas of law include Veterans’ Law, Criminal Defense, Civil Rights, Corporate/Business, Contracts, Real Estate, Consumer Protection, Expungements, and other transactional areas of law.
Currently, Blake is licensed to practice law in the State of Indiana, the Federal US District Court in Indiana for the Northern Jurisdiction & Southern Jurisdiction. In additional to his private practice, Blake serves as a public defender for Howard County. Also, Blake is currently serving as an Officer with the US Army National Guard for the State of Indiana.
Physical fitness is a priority for Blake, and he can routinely be found exercising or working out. Blake participates regularly in events such as the Spartan Race, which is an obstacle team event through a mud course. Blake frequently participates in philanthropy and charity through such groups as the VFW and the American Legion.
